Episcopal Wedding

In the Episcopal faith, it is required that one, at least, of the parties must be a baptized; that the ceremony be attested by at least two witnesses; and the marriage conform to the laws of the State of Wisconsin.

The rules and regulations of The Episcopal Church require that each couple preparing for marriage must participate in pre-marital counseling of at least 6 weeks. Clergy cannot marry couples who have not completed this counseling.

Scheduling and Rehearsal

Weddings may be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Sunday weddings may be scheduled only with permission from the Rector. Weddings are not scheduled the week before and after Easter, the week before Christmas, or on national holidays. 

Rehearsals are to be held at least a day in advance of the wedding. Rehearsals are led by the priest and will last 45 minutes. The rehearsal time must be scheduled with the parish administrator.

Renting as a Venue

Welcome to Fond du Lac Cathedral, we’re delighted you’re considering us for your special day. While we do not require renters to be of the Episcopalian faith, we kindly ask that our property and facilities are treated with respect.

Grafton Hall features rooms able to be prepared for the bride and groom to get ready in, so please let us know if you'd like to reserve these spaces when you inquire. We want to ensure everything is perfect for your big day!

A few important details: Our venue can be rented for two days—one day for the rehearsal and the other for your wedding. You’re welcome to set up the day before the rehearsal, and all decorations must be taken down the day after the wedding. If you need assistance with decor or need any decorating assistants, let us know!

If you’re interested in using Grafton Hall for your after party or our beautiful green space, please be aware that this will incur an additional fee and requires permission from our parish administrator.

Please remember that any damage caused by the wedding party or guests will result in a fee, so we appreciate your cooperation in keeping our space in great condition.
