Welcome to the Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation is a sacred sacrament in which baptized Christians receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, strengthening their faith and deepening their commitment to Christ and His Church. At the Fond du Lac Cathedral, we are honored to walk with candidates as they take this important step in their spiritual journey.
Preparation for Confirmation
Our Confirmation preparation program is designed to help candidates grow in their understanding of the Christian faith and embrace their role as active disciples of Christ. Through catechesis, prayer, service, and reflection, candidates will prepare to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Requirements for Confirmation:
- Candidates must be baptized Christians.
- Candidates must complete a period of preparation, which includes attending Confirmation classes, retreats, and service projects.
Celebrating Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is typically celebrated during a special Mass, presided over by the bishop. Candidates will be anointed with the sacred chrism oil, signifying the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and their mission to live as faithful witnesses of Christ.
